Quinn Popcorn is the brainchild of new parents (to son Quinn) who found themselves reading food labels more keenly. As someone who gave up microwave popcorn cold turkey a few years ago (I made the mistake of googling "microwave popcorn lung") I was thrilled to stumble upon QP last year. Verdict: Quinn has successfully cleaned up one of my favorite snacks and made it taste even better. Here's how:
1) The Bag: No more chemical coatings (PFOA, PFCs, Poly, etc.) and they've removed the "susceptor" which is that gray metal/plastic patch that is embedded into traditional microwave popcorn bags. The susceptor is used to generate enough heat to pop the corn in the bag and when it gets too hot, it breaks down and some of it probably seeps into your cooked popcorn. Yum. So, no chemical coatings and no suscetpor. Just a plain ole paper bag, pressed to remove oil.
2) Ingredients: NO GMO ingredients or preservatives. Organic popcorn. The expeller pressed oils are high in omega-3′s and everything comes from the US.
